Grafana Self-Hosted application

Grafana is an observability and data-visualization platform. This connector targets self-hosted Grafana instances and lets MIA inventory the users of the current organization and manage their access. For hosted stacks, use Grafana Cloud.

Authentication type and prerequisites

Authentication type — Service account token

Prerequisites

Use a Grafana service account with the Admin organization role. Grafana prevents a service account from assigning a role higher than its own. Email delivery must be configured on the Grafana instance.

Connection steps

  1. In Grafana, open Administration → Users and access → Service accounts.
  2. Create a service account for the organization, assign it the Admin role, then generate a token.
  3. In MIA, open Applications → Add an application → Grafana Self-Hosted.
  4. Enter the root URL of your Grafana instance and the service account token.

When adding a user, MIA lets you select the Viewer, Editor, or Admin organization role. See the Grafana organization user-management documentation.
