IONOS Cloud application
IONOS Cloud is a European cloud infrastructure platform. MIA connects to it to inventory the active users in your contract and manage their access.
Authentication type and prerequisites
Authentication type — API key
Prerequisites
- Be an owner or administrator of the IONOS Cloud contract so you can manage its users.
- Have a valid IONOS Cloud authentication token.
- When adding a user from MIA, set a password that complies with the contract's password policy.
Create an authentication token
- In the Data Center Designer, open Menu → Management → Token Manager.
- Generate a token dedicated to MIA, then copy it and keep it secure.
You can also use the IONOS CLI after signing in with ionosctl login:
shell
ionosctl token generateConnect IONOS Cloud to MIA
- In MIA, open Applications → Add an application.
- Search for IONOS Cloud, paste the token, then click Connect.
- MIA imports the contract's active users.
Access management behavior
- MIA creates new users as non-administrators, using the password entered when access is opened.
- A user created through the API initially has limited permissions. Assign the required groups and resources from Users & Groups in IONOS Cloud afterwards.
- Closing access from MIA deletes the user from the IONOS Cloud contract.
