Elastic Cloud application
Elastic Cloud is Elastic's managed platform for deploying and administering search, observability and security solutions. MIA connects to it to inventory the users in your organisation and manage their access.
Authentication type and prerequisites
Authentication type — API key
Prerequisites
Only an organisation owner can create an Elastic Cloud API key. The key must have the permissions required to list members, create invitations and remove organisation memberships.
Connection steps
In the Elastic Cloud console, open your profile menu, then Organization → API keys.
Click Create API key, give it a name, for example MIA, choose its expiration date and assign the roles required to manage the organisation.
Copy the generated key immediately: Elastic displays it only once.
In MIA, open Applications → Add an application, search for Elastic Cloud, paste the API key, then click Connect.
Select the Elastic Cloud organisation to connect and start the first synchronisation.
Users added by MIA receive an Elastic Cloud invitation. They appear in MIA after accepting it and after the next synchronisation. Remember to renew the key in MIA before it expires.
