Aiven application
Aiven is a managed data platform for running open-source services in the cloud. MIA connects to it to inventory the users in your organization and manage their access.
Authentication type and prerequisites
Authentication type — Aiven authentication token
Prerequisites
Use an organization administrator account. The token must be allowed to read users and manage organization invitations and members.
Connection steps
In the Aiven Console, open your profile, then Authentication.
Under Authentication tokens, click Generate token, give it a clear name such as MIA, set its validity period, and copy it immediately.
In MIA, open Applications → Add an application, search for Aiven, enter only the token, then click Connect.
MIA automatically retrieves the organizations accessible with this token. Select the one you want to connect to start the first synchronization.
Users added by MIA receive an invitation to join the organization. They appear in the next synchronization after accepting it. Deletion removes the user from the entire organization; Aiven may reject it for a SCIM-managed user or the last super administrator.
The token is sent only to the Aiven API using the aivenv1 authentication scheme. Renew it in MIA before it expires.
